Due to a technical, fuel-related offence, Vincent Abril has been retrospectively disqualified for the full race weekend in Monza. As a result, he has been deducted any points he scored there.

After a promising start into the season at Autodromo Nazionale Monza scoring two podium finishes, Mercedes-AMG Team HRT is approaching the second DTM racing weekend at the Lausitzring in optimistic mood and full of anticipation.

Roughly 30 years since his debut and almost 20 years since his last outing, Hubert Haupt is set for a return to the DTM. The HRT team owner will make his first guest start at the Nürburgring at the end of August. The appearance of the 52-year-old from Munich goes hand in hand with a second comeback: the #6 Mercedes-AMG GT3 will sport the black and white design of new team partner PLAYBOY. Over the years, the iconic logo of the world-famous lifestyle magazine has adorned several cars in the DTM.

After the impressive second place yesterday, the Haupt Racing Team left the Nürburgring-Nordschleife empty handed on Sunday after a collision with another car that was no fault of their own.

After the fourth round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series had to be skipped due to scheduling conflicts, the Haupt Racing Team will return to the legendary Nürburgring-Nordschleife for the doubleheader of rounds five and six.

The impressive double podium for the Haupt Racing Team in Saturday's opening race of the DTM season was followed by an eventful Sunday race. Despite carrying additional weight, HRT still managed to finish in the top ten in race two of the 2021 DTM. Maximilian Götz brought the #4 Mercedes-AMG GT3 home in tenth place in Monza's Royal Park. Vincent Abril, in the #5 Mercedes-AMG GT3, followed him in eleventh place.

The opening race of the 2021 DTM season ended with an impressive double podium for the Haupt Racing Team. Vincent Abril was runner-up in the #5 Mercedes-AMG GT3 at the iconic Autodromo Nazionale Monza, while team-mate Maximilian Götz finished third in the #4 car to round off an impressive team performance. The team from Meuspath must now prepare for race two, which takes place on Sunday.

The Haupt Racing Team will start its DTM debut season with two rounds at the iconic Autodromo Nazionale Monza. The team from Meuspath fields two top-class Mercedes-AMG GT3s: while Maximilian Götz will drive the car with the starting number 4 in BWT’s pink livery, Vincent Abril will be at the wheel of the #5 in the blue and yellow full-car design by team partner Bilstein. Both cars will compete with extended support from Affalterbach and take on the DTM, which will be contested with GT3 cars for the first time this year, under the official name "Mercedes-AMG Team HRT".

For the Mercedes-AMG Team HRT, this year's 24h-race at the Nürburgring unfortunately remained without any countable success. Both Mercedes-AMG GT3s were not able to finish the race in spite of a strong performance.
