The Haupt Racing Team will start its DTM debut season with two rounds at the iconic Autodromo Nazionale Monza. The team from Meuspath fields two top-class Mercedes-AMG GT3s: while Maximilian Götz will drive the car with the starting number 4 in BWT’s pink livery, Vincent Abril will be at the wheel of the #5 in the blue and yellow full-car design by team partner Bilstein. Both cars will compete with extended support from Affalterbach and take on the DTM, which will be contested with GT3 cars for the first time this year, under the official name "Mercedes-AMG Team HRT".

For the Mercedes-AMG Team HRT, this year's 24h-race at the Nürburgring unfortunately remained without any countable success. Both Mercedes-AMG GT3s were not able to finish the race in spite of a strong performance. Sean Paul Breslin, team principal of HRT, offers an insight into the strategy and a preview of the next challenges.

The Mercedes-AMG Team HRT will start the 49th ADAC TOTAL 24h Race Nürburgring from promising starting positions. Manuel Metzger put the #4 Mercedes-AMG GT3 with the striking yellow and blue BILSTEIN livery in third on the grid in top qualifying. The sister car with number 6 and the extravagant livery of skateboard brand PALACE will start the legendary marathon in the Eifel from fifth on the grid. This makes the two Mercedes-AMG GT3 of HRT the best-placed Mercedes-AMG cars in the starting field of more than 120 cars.

The 49th edition of the legendary ADAC TOTAL 24h Race Nürburgring will see the ultimate showdown of the international sports car elite this weekend. The Haupt Racing Team will be fielding two Mercedes-AMG GT3s at the Eifel marathon, both of which will be competing in the SP9 class under the official name Mercedes-AMG Team HRT and will be driven exclusively by proven Nordschleife experts. The #4 car will be sporting the blue and yellow livery of team partner Bilstein with Adam Christodoulou, Maro Engel, Manuel Metzger and Luca Stolz sharing driving duties. Team owner Hubert Haupt, Patrick Assenheimer, Nico Bastian and Maro Engel, who is eligible to drive both cars, will be at the wheel of the #6 sister car in the eye-catching design of the skateboard and streetwear brand Palace.

Round two in the Endurance Cup of the GT World Challenge Europe: The next race for HRT is set to take place this weekend (28-30 May) at Circuit Paul Ricard. As part of a strong grid featuring 47 cars in total, the team from Meuspath will again field two Mercedes-AMG GT3s.

Following the start of the season on the real racetrack, the Haupt Racing Team is now set to hit the virtual track this weekend. Next up on the schedule for the HRT eSports Team is the opening race of the Endurance Cup within the GT World Challenge Europe Esports Championship.

Mixed Nordschleife dress rehearsal for HRT: The #4 Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the blue and yellow Bilstein livery finished 11th in the Qualification Race for the Nürburgring 24 Hours. The #6 car, featuring the logos of milon and five, came home 12th after six hours of racing in the Green Hell. Over the course of the race weekend, both cars took advantage of the final opportunity to get valuable test kilometres under their belt on the Nordschleife ahead of the iconic 24-hour race (3rd to 6th June).

It is the final test before the legendary 24-hour race at the Nürburgring (3-6 June): With the six-hour qualification race (8-9 May) this weekend, HRT has one last opportunity to collect further important test kilometres at the Nordschleife in order to be perfectly prepared for the 49th edition of the endurance classic.

As well as the races on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, the Haupt Racing Team will also line up with a Mercedes-AMG GT3 sporting the iconic Bilstein livery in the DTM in 2021. This additional commitment sees HRT and Bilstein add another high-profile marketing and communication platform to their successful partnership. The blue and yellow Bilstein GT3 will bear the #5 in the DTM and will be driven by Vincent Abril (FRA).

Mixed start to the Nordschleife season for HRT: Mercedes-AMG Team HRT finished tenth with the number 16 car, in its blue and yellow Bilstein livery. The number six car, in the AutoArenA design, was unable to start the race following a crash in practice.
