HAUPT RACING TEAM TO LINE UP WITH TWO TOP-CLASS CARS AT THE NÜRBURGRING 24 HOURS

PREVIEW | 1 June, 2021 | Nürburg / Germany

The 49th edition of the legendary ADAC TOTAL 24h Race Nürburgring will see the ultimate showdown of the international sports car elite this weekend. The Haupt Racing Team will be fielding two Mercedes-AMG GT3s at the Eifel marathon, both of which will be competing in the SP9 class under the official name Mercedes-AMG Team HRT and will be driven exclusively by proven Nordschleife experts. The #4 car will be sporting the blue and yellow livery of team partner Bilstein with Adam Christodoulou, Maro Engel, Manuel Metzger and Luca Stolz sharing driving duties. Team owner Hubert Haupt, Patrick Assenheimer, Nico Bastian and Maro Engel, who is eligible to drive both cars, will be at the wheel of the #6 sister car in the eye-catching design of the skateboard and streetwear brand Palace.

Thanks to the results in the Nordschleife season so far, both cars have already secured a place in the Top-Qualifying. While the Mercedes-AMG Team HRT #4 switches into race mode in Top-Qualifying 2, the Mercedes-AMG Team HRT #6 fights for a top-4-result in the preceding Top-Qualifying 1 which allows you to participate in Top-Qualifying 2, where the final grid of the fastest 20 cars is determined. Last year, HRT took the much-coveted pole position and provided the two best-placed Mercedes-AMG GT3 cars after 24 hours in the Green Hell. This year again, a top position is the goal for the team from Meuspath.

In the run-up to the endurance classic, media representatives and fans will have the opportunity to put their questions to the drivers in the live format "MEET THE TEAM" presented by team partner Bilstein. The live talk will be broadcasted on the following HRT and Bilstein social media channels:

  • Facebook (facebook.com/hauptracingteam & facebook.com/BILSTEIN.de)
  • Instagram (instagram.com/hauptracingteam & instagram.com/bilstein_official)
