HAUPT RACING TEAM AIMS FOR TOP RESULT AT CIRCUIT PAUL RICARD

PREVIEW | 26 May, 2021 | Le Castellet / France

Round two in the Endurance Cup of the GT World Challenge Europe: The next race for HRT is set to take place this weekend (28-30 May) at Circuit Paul Ricard. As part of a strong grid featuring 47 cars in total, the team from Meuspath will again field two Mercedes-AMG GT3s. The #4 car, sporting a BWT livery, will once again be driven by Vincent Abril, Maro Engel and Luca Stolz. The sister car with the starting number 5 will compete in the colors of team partner AutoArenA: Team owner Hubert Haupt will be sharing driving duties with Patrick Assenheimer and returnee Gabriele Piana, who won the Silver Cup with HRT in the 24-hour race of Spa-Franchorchamps last year.

In 2020, HRT showed a strong performance at the legendary circuit in Le Castellet in Southern France, finishing sixth overall and claiming a class podium in the Silver Cup. This weekend, the two HRT cars will again be aiming for a top result in the six-hour racing classic. While the #4 fights for valuable championship points in the Pro class under the entry "Mercedes-AMG Team HRT", the #5 car competes in the Silver Cup as "Haupt Racing Team".
