The wait is over: with the 66th ADAC Westfalenfahrt on 27 March, this year's Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) starts into the season. The Haupt Racing Team will enter the race at the legendary Nordschleife with two top-class Mercedes-AMG GT3s. Team owner Hubert Haupt, Patrick Assenheimer, Nico Bastian and Maro Engel will be at the wheel of the #6 and compete under the entry Mercedes-AMG Team HRT. Under the same name, Luca Stolz, Adam Christodoulou and Manuel Metzger will be sharing driving duties in the #16 Mercedes-AMG GT3. Both cars stand out visually: while the #16 car will be sporting a striking blue and yellow Bilstein livery, the #6 will be chasing points in a full AutoArenA livery.
With this strong driver line-up and the extended support by Mercedes-AMG Motorsport, HRT aims to build on its successful previous season in the Nürburgring Endurance Series. The team from Meuspath claimed four podium finishes in five NLS races, with the two overall victories in mid-July at the first NLS double-header in history standing out as the sporting highlights. Although the winners from back then - Adam Christodoulou, Maro Engel, Manuel Metzger and Luca Stolz - are spread across two cars at the upcoming round, the high expectations still remain: HRT wants to be among the front runners at the NLS season opener and kick-off this year's endurance season in the Eifel region with a top result.
