MERCEDES-AMG TEAM HRT TO CHASE POINTS AT THE ENDURANCE CLASSIC OF SPA

PREVIEW | 20 October, 2020 | Stavelot / Belgium

It is the season highlight of this year's GT World Challenge Europe: the Total 24 Hours of Spa. The debut race of the HAUPT RACING TEAM at the endurance classic in the Belgian Ardennes is a special one. Due to its late date (22-25 October), the race will be held at night for a much longer time. As in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, HRT will be competing with two Mercedes-AMG GT3s in Spa-Francorchamps. The #4 car with extended works support will be entered under the name of Mercedes-AMG Team HRT and will be driven by Maro Engel, Luca Stolz and Vincent Abril. The car will be in a special livery that is to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing. Meanwhile, the second Mercedes-AMG GT3 is driven by team owner Hubert Haupt, who shares the cockpit of the #5 with Sergei Afanasiev, Michele Beretta and Gabriele Piana.

"During the GT World Challenge season, we have seen that we are well positioned as a team. We have a fantastic race car with the Mercedes-AMG GT3 and also a very strong driver line-up. The motivation at a 24-hour race is certainly very high. Our goal is to achieve a podium finish at this legendary track," says team owner Hubert Haupt.
