  • Ford Mustang GT3 #67 in Bundeswehr livery

The highlight of the season is fast approaching: This coming weekend (April 17–19), the 24h Qualifier will take place on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, serving as the dress rehearsal for the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring (May 14–17). To prepare optimally for the legendary endurance classic, the team from Drees will field two Ford Mustang GT3s with strong driver lineups.

The #65 Ford Mustang GT3 will compete in a livery featuring the design of tire and development partner YOKOHAMA and will be driven by team founder Hubert Haupt, Arjun Maini (IND), David Schumacher, and Frank Stippler (both GER). Last weekend, this car, with the driver lineup of Vincent Kolb and Christopher Mies (both GER), Dennis Olsen (NOR), and Frédéric Vervisch (BEL) at the wheel, it secured third place overall in the third round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS). For both HRT and YOKOHAMA, the 24h Qualifiers once again present an opportunity to make final adjustments ahead of the 24-hour race on the Nordschleife.

The #67 sister car will mark the first time the distinctive camouflage polygon design of the team’s new partner, the Bundeswehr, is seen on the track. The drivers scheduled to race the Ford Mustang GT3 #67 this coming weekend are HRT debutedant Colin Caresani (NED), Christopher Mies (GER), Fabio Scherer (SUI), and Frédéric Vervisch (BEL).

The design of the car is geared toward recruitment and aims to showcase the Bundeswehr as a modern employer within the motorsports community. As in previous years, the Bundeswehr will have its own exhibition area at the 24-hour race to provide information about the diverse career and entry-level opportunities available within the Bundeswehr. In addition, HRT, in collaboration with the Bundeswehr and its merchandising partner Paddock Legends, will release its own fan collection for the ADAC RAVENOL 24h race to further highlight the partnership with one of Germany’s largest employers.

The two four-hour races of the 24h Qualifier will take place on Saturday (April 18) and Sunday (April 19). The first race on Saturday starts at 17:30 CEST, continues into the evening, and ends after dark at 21:30 CEST. This makes the 24h Qualifier not only a sporting event but also, in terms of atmosphere, a true prelude to the Eifel classic. For race two on Sunday, the lights will turn green at 13:30 CEST.

Ulrich Fritz, Chief Executive Officer Haupt Racing Team: “The dress rehearsal on the Nürburgring Nordschleife gives us another opportunity to thoroughly prepare for the 24-hour race and optimize all our procedures. We’re excited to finally unveil our previously announced Ford Mustang GT3 in Bundeswehr livery. Both HRT and the Bundeswehr stand for precision and commitment at the highest level—values that shape our approach to motorsports. Our collaboration with YOKOHAMA is also in full swing. Tires are always a decisive factor in the Green Hell, especially during the 24-hour race.”
