A familiar face will be back in action for the Haupt Racing Team in the 2026 season. Niklas Kalus will once again take the wheel of the Ford Mustang GT3. The 20-year-old will also compete for the Drees-based team in the ADAC GT Masters next season and is once again part of the junior program, which HRT is consistently pursuing with its “Road to DTM” concept. Last year, Kalus made a significant contribution to HRT's repeat victory in the team championship in the ADAC GT Masters with a pole position and other strong results in his debut season. But Niklas Kalus will not only be behind the wheel of the Ford Mustang GT3 at the six ADAC GT Masters events. The man from Duisburg is expanding his motorsport program and will be competing in the ADAC RAVENOL Nürburgring Endurance Series on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife in the second half of the year.

Before the regular season, Niklas Kalus is preparing for the upcoming challenges as part of the GT Winter Series. From February 13 to 15, Kalus will be completing test drives and championship races in the #64 Ford Mustang GT3 alongside Austrian driver Kiano Blum at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Spain. Also on the starting grid will be the sister car #74, driven by Max Cuccarese (ITA) and Alain Valente (SUI).

Niklas Kalus, Haupt Racing Team: "I am delighted to be racing for HRT again in the coming season. The trust placed in me for another year means a lot to me and gives me extra motivation. In addition to my return to the ADAC GT Masters, the Nürburgring Nordschleife is a very special new challenge that I am extremely excited about. I am highly motivated to continue developing and am looking forward to an exciting, instructive, and hopefully successful racing year."

Ulrich Fritz, Chief Executive Officer Haupt Racing Team: "We are delighted to be able to continue supporting Niklas on his career path. He has already shown in his first season that he is very talented. We will continue to promote his development, and Niklas will be able to further expand his wealth of experience with the races on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. I am very optimistic that we will see further positive development and good results from him again in the upcoming year.“
