ULRICH FRITZ: “I AM VERY OPTIMISTIC ABOUT THE SECOND HALF OF THE SEASON.“

Press information | 5 August, 2025 | Drees

Ulrich, HRT's home races in the DTM are coming up this weekend at the Nürburgring. What are your expectations?
We are always delighted to race on our home track. The DTM races at the Nürburgring are a highlight for us, alongside the ADAC RAVENOL 24-hour race. Of course, the DTM races on the sprint circuit pose completely different technical and tactical challenges to the 24-hour race, which takes place on the Nordschleife. But that doesn't mean we won't see some great racing – quite the opposite!

Most recently, HRT scored a one-two victory on this track layout at the Nürburgring...
That's right. We were here in July for the ADAC GT Masters and celebrated our first overall victory with the Ford Mustang GT3, which was also a double victory. Our performance here was really good throughout the entire weekend. We were able to gather a lot of valuable information. And in terms of motivation, this naturally gives us a lot of momentum for the upcoming race weekend. We hope to be able to put in an equally good performance in the DTM. Especially as we achieved our best result of the season so far in the last DTM race at the Norisring. However, the Norisring is a very special track, so you can't really draw too many parallels with other circuits. The experience we gained in the ADAC GT Masters will be more helpful for the coming weekend. In any case, we are well prepared.

The pressure on the drivers will be pretty high here, won't it?
No, not higher than usual. Arjun is an experienced GT3 driver and knows what matters in the DTM. He knows the car and the track. After his fifth place at the Norisring, he will be very motivated to achieve a similarly good result. Fabio is also improving all the time in GT3, even though the last race weekend did not go perfectly for him. His race pace is very good and his interaction with the team is constantly improving. If Fabio has a race without any incidents, he will also be in contention for a top-10 finish. I have great confidence in our drivers and am very optimistic for the second half of the season.
