- SILVER Cup with David Schumacher, Finn Wiebelhaus and Romain Andriolo
Since its foundation in 2020, the Haupt Racing Team has been successfully competing in the top-class GT World Challenge Europe. HRT will again be competing in the SRO-organized racing series in the 2025 season. The team from Drees, near the Nürburgring, will field two Ford Mustang GT3s in the Endurance Cup.
In the highly competitive PRO Cup, the #64 Ford Mustang GT3 will be raced by Arjun Maini, Thomas Drouet and Jann Mardenborough. Indian driver Arjun Maini has been competing for HRT in the GT World Challenge Europe since 2022 and is one of the more experienced drivers in the series. In 2024, Maini claimed a class podium at the 24 Hours of Spa and third place overall in the endurance classification of the GOLD Cup. New signing Thomas Drouet has also been racing in the GT World Challenge Europe for many years and has plenty of experience in the SRO series. Jann Mardenborough completes the powerful trio. The Briton will be a valuable addition to the team thanks to his many appearances in the GT World Challenge Europe, the British GT and the Japanese Super GT.
In the sister car with starting number 65, David Schumacher, Finn Wiebelhaus and Romain Andriolo will take their seat behind the wheel of the Ford Mustang GT3 in the SILVER Cup. Like his teammate Wiebelhaus, former DTM driver Schumacher contested an extensive racing program with Haupt Racing Team last season, achieving third place overall in the ADAC GT Masters and a race victory in the Nürburgring Endurance Series, among other successes. Wiebelhaus, gold medal winner at last year's FIA Motorsport Games, placed fourth overall in the ADAC GT Masters behind his teammate Schumacher, with one victory and two other podium finishes. The young Frenchman Romain Andriolo comes from single seater racing and achieved an excellent fourth place in the 2023 French Formula 4 Championship. Andriolo gained his first experience of GT3 racing with HRT at the 24H Dubai and will compete in the five races of the Endurance Cup together with Schumacher and Wiebelhaus.
The GT World Challenge Europe is considered one of the strongest GT racing series worldwide. Many of the best drivers and teams compete here in four different classes for championship points. The five events of the Endurance Cup include races lasting three, six and 24 hours. The highlight of the season is the Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa, which is known as the largest GT3 race in the world and is expected to feature a strong field of over 60 cars.
Ulrich Fritz, Chief Executive Officer Haupt Racing Team: “The GT World Challenge Europe is a highly competitive race series in which we have already celebrated a number of successes since the team was founded, including the 2023 championship in the Silver Cup sprint classification. We are now facing a new challenge with the Ford Mustang GT3, which we are happy to take on. We want to continue developing the car throughout the season. The GT World Challenge Europe is the ideal platform for this. The whole team is looking forward to the challenge with optimism.”
