Two customer sports cars are planned, which will compete under the name Gohm Motorsport Team by HRT. Debut on the HRT racing calendar: The successful team from Drees will also be on the starting grid of the Ferrari Challenge Europe for the first time this year. HRT will be supporting two Challenge cars from Maranello for the Alfred Gohm dealership in the one-make cup and will compete under the name Gohm Motorsport Team by HRT. The renowned sports car dealer from Singen, which also has branches in Vienna and Böblingen, has been entering cars in the Ferrari one-make cup for many years and is relying on HRT's expertise this season. This is the first time that the Haupt Racing Team has expanded its field of operations to include entries in a one-make cup. The Ferrari 296 Challenge will be used - the new customer sports car has already been active as a GT3 version since 2023 and is now also replacing its predecessor, the 488 Challenge Evo, in the Ferrari Challenge.
Drivers Andreas König and Alexander Nußbaumer will be fighting for victories and points for the Gohm Motorsport Team by HRT. Austrian Nußbaumer celebrated his debut in the Ferrari Challenge Europe back in 2016. In 2022, the 56-year-old entrepreneur won the championship in the Coppa Shell AM classification. His compatriot and team-mate Andreas König made his debut in the Ferrari Challenge Europe in the same year and finished in a good sixth position in this classification. The 58-year-old investor and start-up manager König is now returning to the Ferrari Challenge Europe after a one-year break.
There will also be a new face on the pit wall for HRT. The Haupt Racing Team has been able to recruit Manuel Reuter as project manager and team principal for the Ferrari Challenge Europe. In addition to the Ferrari Challenge Europe, Reuter will also be active in the sectors of project management, driver support and coaching at HRT. The focus in coaching is currently on the ADAC GT Masters, where HRT introduces young talents to GT racing and develops them further. The two-time Le Mans winner, ITC champion and overall winner of the 24h Nürburgring is a great asset to the team from Drees with his decades of experience in motorsport and the promotion of young talent. With his support, the Haupt Racing Team would like to successfully promote further motorsport and junior projects.
The Ferrari Challenge Europe racing calendar includes six race weekends and starts from 2 to 5 May in Mugello, Italy. After the season finale at the Nürburgring (5 to 8 September), the Ferrari Challenge World Final will be held at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola from 16 to 20 October. The Gohm Motorsport Team by HRT will also be on the grid at this final highlight with two Ferrari 296 Challenge cars.
Thorsten Gohm, CEO of Autohaus Alfred Gohm GmbH: "As an official Ferrari dealer, we see the Ferrari Challenge Europe as an ideal opportunity to make our company more present and to engage with customers. With HRT, we now have an experienced partner at our side who has already proven its skills in other series on several occasions. We want to benefit from this in the new season in order to be able to offer our customers the best possible sporting package. We are very much looking forward to working with HRT and Manuel Reuter and hope for a successful season."
Ulrich Fritz, Chief Executive Officer Haupt Racing Team: "Competing in the Ferrari Challenge Europe is a new challenge for us that we are happy to take on. We are very much looking forward to working with Autohaus Alfred Gohm. I am convinced that we can learn a lot from each other and that this will result in a successful partnership. In Manuel, we have gained an extremely experienced man who will certainly help us in many areas and significantly expand our expertise."
Manuel Reuter, project manager and team principal of Gohm Motorsport Team by HRT: "First of all, I am delighted to be able to realise the entry in the Ferrari Challenge Europe together with HRT. I have also been involved in the promotion of young talent for many years. My aim is to consistently develop this topic further and to utilise synergies that are available to everyone involved. This also includes opening up new areas of business and activity. I look forward to our collaboration."
