HRT TO COMPETE WITH THREE CARS IN PENULTIMATE GT WORLD CHALLENGE EUROPE ENDURANCE CUP ROUND

PREVIEW | 30 August, 2022 | Hockenheim / Germany

This weekend (2nd till 4th September), the fourth round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup is on the schedule for Haupt Racing Team. The team from Meuspath will be on the grid with three cars when the lights go green at Hockenheimring on Sunday: two Mercedes-AMG GT3s will be competing in the Silver Cup during the three-hour race while HRT is represented with one car in the Gold Cup.

With the #777 GT3 under the “Al Manar Racing by HRT” entry, Al Faisal Al Zubair (OMA), Axcil Jefferies (ZIM) and Fabian Schiller (GER) are aiming at their next Silver Cup podium result. Lately, the driver trio had claimed the class win in the second round of the season at Circuit Paul Ricard in France with an impressive team performance. In the #4 sister car of team partner PAUL, also competing for points in the Silver classification under the “Haupt Racing Team” banner, Jannes Fittje (GER), Jordan Love (AUS) and Alain Valente (SUI) are sharing driving duties.

The #5 Mercedes-AMG GT3, sporting the black-and-red nu concept livery, will also run as a “Haupt Racing Team” entry. Team owner Hubert Haupt (GER), Arjun Maini (IND) and Florian Scholze (GER) will be taking on the challenge in the Gold Cup, run for the first time this season.

HRT with technical support for SKY Tempesta Racing

Moreover, HRT provides the technical support for the #93 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of SKY Tempesta Racing. With its drivers Eddie Cheever (ITA), Christopher Froggatt (GBR) and Martin Konrad (AUT), the team is also competing in the Gold Cup.

Sean Paul Breslin, Team Principal HRT: “We are glad that action continues in the GT World Challenge Europe. In the first two rounds at Imola and Le Castellet, we have shown strong achievements, so why shouldn’t we manage to do so again at Hockenheimring? We are very well prepared and we are doing our utmost to be on the podium again this weekend.”

About HRT
HRT stands for HAUPT RACING TEAM. The motorsport team was formed in July 2020 by racing driver and businessman Hubert Haupt and has established itself as a big name in international GT3 racing within a very short space of time. For example, HRT won the Drivers’ Championship in the DTM in only its second season of motorsport. In 2022, the team starts in the DTM, the Nürburgring Endurance Series, the Endurance Cup in the GT World Challenge Europe, and the 24-hour races at the Nürburgring and Spa-Francorchamps – in some cases with works support from Mercedes-AMG. The headquarters of Haupt Racing Team GmbH are in Grünwald near Munich, while the HRT Race Base is located on the Meuspath industrial estate, right next to the Nürburgring. HRT is also involved in professional sim racing and is a sought-after partner for technical development projects and motorsport events of all kinds. www.hauptracingteam.de/en
