HRT’s first season in the DTM could not have reached a more successful conclusion: The final round at the Norisring could hardly have been more exciting and saw HRT driver Maximilian Götz (GER) clinch the drivers’ title in this prestigious series, which was held according to GT3 regulations for the first time. HRT has set itself high goals and will be competing with two new drivers when the 2022 DTM season gets underway this weekend: Mercedes-AMG Performance Driver Luca Stolz (GER) and Junior Driver Arjun Maini (IND) will do battle for points and podiums in the two Mercedes-AMG GT3s of Haupt Racing Team.

The 36th season of the DTM features a field of 29 cars and kicks off with the race weekend at Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in the Portuguese city of Portimão (29th April to 1st May). The 4.563-kilometre circuit is making its debut on the DTM calendar, which comprises a total of eight two-race events in five countries. With the season almost upon us, the teams have one final opportunity to prepare for the coming season, as Portimão hosts two official tests today and tomorrow.
Mercedes-AMG Team HRT lines up with two Mercedes-AMG GT3s
The two Mercedes-AMG GT3s, which Haupt Racing Team has registered for the 2022 DTM season, will start as Mercedes-AMG Team HRT. When it comes to the drivers, Haupt Racing Team can depend upon a strong duo from the Mercedes-AMG Motorsport squad.
In Luca Stolz, a proven GT3 ace will be at the wheel of the #4 car, in the yellow and blue livery of team partner BILSTEIN. The 26-year-old had a taste of the DTM last year, with two guest starts at the Nürburgring. He is now set for his first full season in the prestigious series. In the cockpit of the #36 car, sporting the blue and white PAUL livery, will be Arjun Maini. The Indian made his DTM debut in 2021 and claimed his first podium at the Norisring.

“We tested successfully in Portimão in February. Luca and I both completed about 200 practice laps and gained valuable experience for the season-opener. We are ready. Let the season begin!”
