PRESS INFORMATION | 16 February, 2022 |

Haupt Racing Team has entered into a strategic cooperation with Mannheim-based company PAUL GmbH. As well as various joint motorsport projects, the intention is to work together on the planning and implementation of the new HRT Race Base.

  • 2022 DTM season: Mercedes-AMG GT3 with PAUL design

The core business of PAUL GmbH is in the real estate industry. The Mannheim-based company has introduced a process of change here and taken it upon itself to make buildings CO2-neutral, and thus sustainable and competitive, with the help of artificial intelligence. PAUL and HRT are now looking to transfer this innovative approach to the motorsport scene.

Together, Haupt Racing Team and PAUL will gather and analyse data, in order to then use artificial intelligence to sound out potential for optimisation. The knowledge acquired in this way will serve as the basis for technological developments. The goal is to make HRT’s involvement in motorsport more climate-neutral – just as PAUL is already doing successfully in real estate.

The intention is also to use PAUL’s extensive expertise in the digital transformation of the real estate sector when planning and implementing one of Haupt Racing Team’s most exciting projects: the construction of the new HRT Race Base in the Meuspath industrial park, not far from the Nürburgring. The aspiration of HRT and team owner Hubert Haupt is to erect an innovative complex of buildings, which will serve as a showcase project in terms of CO2 emissions and energy consumption.

Full PAUL livery for the Mercedes-AMG GT3

As part of the new partnership, Haupt Racing Team will run a Mercedes-AMG GT3 in a full PAUL livery at all eight events in the 2022 DTM season. A cooperation is also planned in the GT World Challenge Europe and the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS).

Ulrich Fritz, Managing Director of Haupt Racing Team:
“We are delighted that, in PAUL, we have acquired an innovative digital company as a partner. In motorsport, as in the real estate industry, a process of change is taking place, which is only possible with the help of state-of-the-art methods like the use of artificial intelligence. To be successful, the performance must always be right. In this context, the strategic partnership with PAUL is ideal. We are looking forward to an inspirational partnership!”

Maiko Dufner, Managing Director of PAUL GmbH:
“The partnership with HRT is very special for us. Although both companies are active in different industries, there are a lot of similarities that we have in common – such as notions of performance and the desire for climate neutrality. We are certain that both HRT and our company will benefit to the same degree from the new strategic partnership. We are looking forward to a fruitful cooperation and many exciting projects.”
